John Rizzo, Photography InstructorJohn Rizzo is a photojournalist, portrait photographer and photo illustrator based in New York City. John has a passion for teaching photography. John is a storyteller of customs and traditions, and believes these bodies of work can help cross-cultural understandings to promote peace and tolerance. He is currently working on a book about the close relationship between the Durango Mennonite Colony and the Guarani people in Eastern Bolivia. He has photographed the cover of Newsweek five times, and has been published in Newsweek Japan, Newsweek Korea, Newsweek China and Newsweek Espanol. He has also created conceptual covers for the Washington Post Magazine and the Los Angeles Times Magazine. In 2000, he contributed 6 pages to the Newsweek Special Issue “Your Child,” which was nominated for a National Magazine Award in the category of Personal Service. He has covered the Russians of Brighton Beach for the Overseas Press Club, the events of September 11th for Bloomberg News, feature stories for the New York Times, and traveled internationally for corporations and media companies. He has been a monthly contributor to Westchester Magazine since 2007. He has led numerous groups across the globe. John is a master teacher who will help you enhance your photography skills on so many levels. His main focus in teaching is on lighting, composition, timing and color. |
