New York City Photography Walking Tour
A New York City Photographic Experience
Every evening people from all points on the globe dream of waking up in New York City. For many, this dream has become reality. Three out of the eight million residents are immigrants—the city is a true melting pot. On this 5-day photography experience we will travel by subway and bus to points all over the city to photograph the urban landscape.
Store fronts, street scenes, signage, architecture, yellow taxis, graffiti, people of all creeds, colors, religions and orientation will be photographed. The group will photograph people at work: such as barbers, butchers, pizza makers, bodega owners and tailors. We will explore the city and experience the rhythm of daily life. The city is comprised of five boroughs and each one is a collection of diverse ethnic neighborhoods.
This photographic immersion will introduce you to neighborhoods that only natives and urban explorers know. This trip is geared towards photographers of all levels, iphone users are welcome. The day will start at 9:30am and will end at 4:00pm. The trip fee includes an opening and closing dinner and three lunches and an unlimited ride metrocard. You will be responsible for your own lodging.
This is not a workshop, it is an intensive photowalk in neighborhoods rarely visited by out of towners and many residents.
Traditional sights such as the Empire State Bulding, Statue of Liberty, Rockerfeller Center, Central Park are not on the agenda and can be explored at your own leisure.
